The new Dutch pension regulations under the recently passed Future of Pensions Act will bring changes to many people’s pension, but not to everyone’s. On this website, you can check whether the pension you have built up with Nationale-Nederlanden or the pension you are receiving from Nationale-Nederlanden are among the pensions that will change. Click the situation that applies to you and do the check.
Your pension payments will not change under the new pension regulations. This is regardless of what kind of pension you are receiving, i.e. a standard or equalised retirement pension, a standard or special partner’s pension, an orphan’s pension, or an occupational disability pension.
Please note: if you opted for a variable-benefit pension or a pension with higher payments initially and lower payments further down the line in a ‘high/low’ split when the pension went into payment, these arrangements will not change and your pension payments will change only as agreed in these arrangements. This is unrelated to the new pension regulations.
If you built up a pension through a previous employer, but are no longer paying any premiums towards this pension, this pension will not change under the new pension regulations.
If you saved up for a pension under a final salary or career average scheme (also known as a defined-benefit agreement), the pension you will receive is guaranteed. This means that your pension will not be converted into an investment-based pension (switched to the new pension system).
If you have built up a pension under a pension scheme where you use the pension capital accrued or the value of the investments to buy a pension on your retirement date (also known as a defined-contribution agreement or capital sum agreement), how much pension you will receive depends on the amount available, the interest rate and life expectancy on your retirement date. This is unrelated to the new pensioen regulations.
If Nationale-Nederlanden is paying your pension contributions in full during your occupational disability, the pension you have built up and your further pension accrual will not change under the new pension regulations.
Please note: any changes to the degree of your occupational disability may, however, affect your pension accrual. This is unrelated to the new pension regulations.
If Nationale-Nederlanden is paying part of your pension contributions during your occupational disability, the pension you have built up and your further pension accrual will not change under the new pension regulations.
Please note: any changes to the degree of your occupational disability may, however, affect your pension accrual. This is unrelated to the new pension regulations.
If you are currently building up a pension with Nationale-Nederlanden through an employer, this pension may change under the new pension regulations.
There will be changes to your further pension accrual over the coming period. We are unable to say at this point when and how the new pension regulations will change your pension. It depends on the pension scheme in which you are enrolled and other factors. And it depends on the choices your employer makes.
By 1 January 2028, all pension schemes must comply with the new pension regulations.
As soon as we know more, we will write to you personally. You don’t have to do anything in the meantime. If you want to find out more about the new pension regulations, visit nn.nl/pensioenakkoord.
Yes, that is possible. For example if you:
Only your further pension accrual through your current employer will change under the new pension regulations. As soon as we have more information about that, we will write to you.
The pension you have built up through your previous employer will not change under the new pension regulations.
